Kylie Minogue’s astonishing popularity shows no sign of waning, with the pop-goddess adding further dates, including shows in Milan, on 8th March, and Glasgow, of her ‘Aphrodite – Les Folies’ tour following huge demand. Later this month will see also the release of the 2nd single from Aphrodite, ‘Get Outta My Way’.
Minogue said, “The reaction to Aphrodite has been absolutely incredible and has inspired me and my creative team to develop a new show that will take all of us on a euphoric journey of joy, excitement and glamour.”
Despite Kylie’s recent assertion in a Billboard interview that “I’m going to be put out to pasture soon” , she seems as ionic as ever, with The Daily Telegraph naming her the most powerful celebrity in Britain, following a poll by Millward Brown, with George Clooney the only other non-Brit to appear in the top 10.
In recent years Kylie has assumed the mantle of mistress of reinvention, and her new album has contributions or production from artists as diverse as Nerina Pallot, Calvin Harris, Jake Shears and Babydaddy of Scissor Sisters, Stuart Price, Tim Rice-Oxley of Keane and RedOne
For RedOne in particular, working with Kylie was an enjoyable experience, and may lead to further collaborations. “To me I was expecting a diva, you know” he said of Minogue. “It was fun, easy to work with her. We did three songs in two days … we said we’re going to do more songs in LA.”
Kylie also appears on Happiness, the debut album released this month by British synthpop Hurts, on the track Devotion, as well as returning to acting last year in American Indie film Jack and Diane.
